An 18 karat gold 'Retro' period twirling ribbon brooch set with diamonds and aquamarines. The brooch whilst unsigned likely originates from the United States during the 1940s and has many of the machinist and bold qualities that were seen in early Retro period jewellery. The piece is set with 13 diamonds, four brilliant cut stones and 9 single cuts along with three oval cut aquamarines which are all set amongst the flowing machinist gold ribbons which are a recurring element in 1940s jewellery. A gorgeous example of a 1940s cocktail pin that would have seen many a dance and luncheon!
