About this piece
This vintage Indian wooden chest we sourced in India is a beautifully aged storage piece, rich in character and history. Traditionally used in Indian homes to store bedding, clothing, and treasured belongings, chests like this were crafted to be both practical and enduring.
Made from solid timber, this piece features a hinged lid and original iron hardware, with visible joinery, aged timber grain, and surface markings that speak to decades of use. The warm, earthy tones and worn patina are entirely authentic, developed naturally over time and impossible to replicate.
Its generous size and simple rectangular form make it incredibly versatile. Use it as a blanket box, coffee table, hallway storage chest, or at the foot of a bed. It works effortlessly across rustic, coastal, farmhouse, and contemporary interiors, adding depth and soul to any space.
