About this piece
A charming small cabinet combining an open display niche with enclosed storage below.
The moulded and reeded top sits above a shaped apron centred with a carved rosette and incised line detail, flanked by shaped corbel brackets. The open recess below is ideal for a book or lamp, above a panelled cupboard door with reeded stiles either side, fitted with what appears to be its original brass drop handle on a star backplate. Moulded plinth base.
In original unrestored condition with a warm reddish patina. Some surface scuffing to the top and shelf, and minor wear to the lower door edge, all honest and in keeping with its age.
