Mid-Victorian full cedar half-post single bed.
Ornately and richly carved acanthus leaf bedhead with 2 taller posts, complemented with a simpler foot and 2 lower posts.
Very good original condition. A wonderful patina from years of loving use emphasises the rich, warm red tones of the Australian cedar.
Bedhead: 1340mm(H) x 1080(W). Foot:760mm(H) x 1080(W). Overall length (external): 2125mm. Internal length: 1940mm.
It’s a 3/4 size bed, so it’s the same length as a single bed but is 16cm wider. It’s the same width as a king single bed but not as long.
The wire mesh & mattress are included but optional. We had the mattress made to fit the bed in recent years and it’s in very good condition.
I’m looking for a good home for it as I’ve owned and used it for the last 45 years, but reluctantly don’t have space for it now.
