Original 1950s Heywood Wakefield Encore bedroom set, purchased from the US in 2007. Produced in 1957 and finished in the Wheat colourway. The back has the original factory stamp with the colourway and the year of production.


This listing is for the double bed frame. Currently have the entire set as shown in the pictures and would be open to a deal for the whole set or multiple pieces.


Rare and exceptionally hard to find in Australia, this is a highly sought-after example of American mid-century modern design.


The suite was purchased from the original owner in Washington DC, who kept glass tops on all pieces (included). Over time the finish on the timber has flaked in areas and there is general wear including light scratching and water marks. The set remains fully usable as is, though stripping/refinishing is recommended if a restored finish is desired. Heywood Wakefield provide the original stain formula for accurate restoration.
