These are a very good pair of genuine Vintage earlier 1900s ( almost Antique ) French Louis XIV revival Arm Chairs.
They are superbly crafted with solid Walnut ‘show timber’ frames which feature elegent curved and shaped arms that flow downwards from the carved embellished shoulders down to the well scrolled folate carved embellished hand grips and lower upright supports. The front and rear legs and the connecting ‘H” shaped stretcher are formed from and connected by an ‘H’ shaped stretcher combination of block and turnings. The front legs terminate in stylised animal paw feet and are connected by a horizontal saw pierced panel of carved leaves, ‘C ‘and ‘S’ shaped scrolls.
The seats are sprung for comfort and the backs are padded. The tapestry upholstery is finished with gimp and large pyramid shaped studs.
Condition: Frames are rock solid and the upholstery is very good however faded over the years. To recover these chairs ton taste is an easy task .
