BørgeMogensen along with colleagues Hans Wegner and Arne Jacobsen, were at the forefront of the golden age of Danish modernism. The 2258 exemplifies the Danish modernist style with its clean lines and simplicity. Its oak frame is sufficiently light enough in weight and colour that it isn't imposing, yet has a sturdiness well beyond it's present day mimics.
The presented chair has been reupholstered in a supple caramel leather that works perfectly with the oak frame. The original cushions with their cloth covers come with the chair. However, they are a bit moth eaten, hence the reupholstering. The original stickers are intact. More importantly, this is a comfortable design classic that will work in a variety of settings as an occasional chair or as an armchair for reading.
