Pair of vintage salt and pepper shakers by Aynsley Fine Bone China, believed to date from the 1970s. Aynsley was established in Staffordshire by John Aynsley in 1775; beginning as a china decorator before moving into production and specialising in lusterware. The factory closed in 2014 after 240 years and three generations of Aynsleys. Designed for individual place settings, the salt shaker is formed as a pink rose with green leaves in a white pot, and the pepper shaker as a pink carnation with green leaves in a white pot. Both retain plastic stoppers.
