This is a lovely example of a very difficult to find and acquire compact size superior quality genuine Antique English Victorian Rosewood mirror back marble top Credenza with a lower Display Cabinet / Book Case made and finished in expensive prestigious imported Central American Rosewood with excellent figuring and now of lovely mellowed ‘honey’ colour.
The backboard has its original mirror plate panel within a shaped and carved enbellished ‘show timber‘ frame featuring an upper central symmetrical foliate crest carving in the French manner., The cabinet has a shaped white Carrara Marble overhanging top with an edge molding. Below is the upright rectangular single door cabinet which has cantered corners with full height saw pierced fretwork panels with a raised molded framed border. The door has its original glass centre panel with a raised perimeter molding the top section decoratively carved with French scrolls and a centre crest carving also in the French influence and to compliment the top crest carving.. Within the cabinet are two adjustable height shelves for displaying anything from books to collectables.
Condition: This quality and compact size Credenza / Cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with its age and use.
