Details
This is a very good example of a genuine antique English early Victorian Bracket Eight day Clock made circa 1840.
The clock runs on a triple Fusee movement with an arched silver and brass dial surrounded by raised gilt foliate spandrels. The chapter ring has engraved Roman numerals and there are three subsiduary dials for chime/silent, slow/fast and Cambridge/Westminster chimes on eight bells.
The Oak case is of ‘classic’ architectural form with a broken Swan neck pediment with central cast brass Pineapple finial and side free standing fluted Corinthian columns plus other stylised applied carved embellishments and is finished in simulated hand grained Rosewood. The sides and rear door have fabric backed saw pierced fretwork panels.
Condition: over all excellent having been recently serviced however the fretwork panels require a little restoration and this shall be done and included within the price.
The clock comes complete with key and pendulum.
