This classic piece features the traditional high back, a beautifully curved yoke (resembling an official's hat), and sweeping S-shaped armrests that give it a commanding presence in any room. The central splat boasts intricate, hand-carved openwork panels—including a circular top medallion and a rectangular scene featuring traditional animal motifs (looks like a deer amidst foliage, symbolizing longevity and good fortune). It has a rich, dark lacquer finish with a wonderful, authentic patina showing natural wear and age. It is structurally solid and makes for an incredible statement accent chair in a living room, study, or hallway.
