The solid timber frame is finished in an elegant white‑wash polish—applied at the owner’s request—giving the piece a fresh, contemporary feel while respecting its vintage roots. The original cushions, new when the chair was first commissioned, are upholstered in a refined salt‑and‑pepper fine‑check fabric: a tightly woven textile that blends charcoal, black and white for a subtle, textured finish. The recliner operates with body weight, making the chair as functional as it is beautiful. This chair presents in very good vintage condition with only minimal wear marks to the frame and fabric. An old Australian manufacturer’s stamp was found under the armrest when first purchased. Sourced in Sydney.
