The True Love chair was designed in 1998 by Danish duo Flemming Busk and Stephan Hertzog for +Halle and it remains one of the most distinctive lounge chairs to emerge from the Scandinavian design tradition in the post-war era.
The defining feature is the split back: the backrest divides into two generously upholstered panels that curve gently forward, creating a wrapping, enveloping embrace. Seen from the rear, the form is almost architectural. From the front, the chairs have an open, welcoming quality that is at once dramatic and deeply inviting.
This pair retains its original blue-grey velvet upholstery soft and barely worn, with the quiet patina that only genuine age can produce. The low, generous seat and cocoon-like form suit long conversation and quiet reading in equal measure. Both chairs sit on chrome disc swivel bases, rotating freely through 360 degrees.
The True Love was nominated for the Bo Bedre Design Award in 2004 and has since become a sought-after piece on the international design market. Pairs are rare.
