A rare and iconic pair of Scissor Chairs designed by Paul Tuttle & Antonio Citterio for Flexform, Italy, circa 1980s.
These sculptural lounge chairs exemplify the refined minimalism and precision engineering that define Italian design of the late 20th century. Each features the distinctive X-shaped folding frame characteristic of the model, crafted in brushed steel and paired with rich brown saddle leather upholstery — a timeless combination of strength and elegance.
The seat and backrest exhibit a beautifully developed patina, enhancing the authentic vintage character of the leather. True to Flexform’s design ethos, the craftsmanship balances comfort, ergonomics, and aesthetic restraint — making these pieces as functional as they are collectible.
The leather seat is masterfully created by saddle-makers who collaborated with Flexform, affixed to the frame at six points with chrome cylindrical capsules, each hand-stitched in situ. The saddle-set cowhide is double-layered, top-stitched above and below, reflecting the meticulous workmanship that has made Flexform Italia synonymous with exceptional craftsmanship.
