The Hope and Anchor, Gloster Place, was in Camden Town in London. It opened in around 1798 and closed in 2013. The base also carries a British Antique Dealers Association sticker certifying its antiquity. There are a number of marks on the sides, but are too rubbed to be legible. These would have been excise marks and presumably a makers mark. Engraved on the front is the letter L in a florid script. This may have been the regular customers initial.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt stands 122 mm (4.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 95 mm (3.75 inches). The condition is very good.
