This large Georgian sterling silver soup ladle carries the makers mark for Graham and McLean of Glasgow and was assayed in Edinburgh in 1801. The long elegantly curved handle also carries a family crest, possibly Scottish, and the monogram I (or J) MB. It weighs 245 gms, (7.88 troy ounces) and measures 371 mm (14.5 inches) in overall length. The bowl is 95 mm (3.75 inches) in diameter and is 32 mm (1.25 inches) deep. It is in very good condition.
