Fredericia, the Danish maker best known for producing the furniture of Børge Mogensen, put the design into production in 2017 as part of a small Barbry collection of one bar stool and three side tables.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe frame is made in three vertical sections, each formed from two pieces, and a footrest sits wherever two sections meet: one high, one halfway down and one low. Whatever your height, there is a rail at the right level, so a child and a tall adult can sit comfortably at the same bench. From the side, the thin steel reads almost like a line drawing, and the stool takes up very little visual space for its height.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach stool now has a new seat pad, made exclusively for it, in Texas saddle aniline leather over a foam cushion. Aniline leather is coloured with dye alone, with no pigment coating on the surface, so the natural grain of the hide stays visible, the leather feels soft from the first sitting, and the tan deepens to a richer colour with use. The foam gives the seat a comfort that the bare timber seat does not have, and the pad sits on the original black lacquered ash seat, so the stool keeps its factory form beneath it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor comparison, Fredericia's current Plan bar stool with an upholstered seat sells new in the United States for around US$1,445, before freight, import GST and a made to order lead time that often runs to three months. These stools are here now, with their leather seats already made.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe stools are in excellent condition, and the leather seat pads are brand new. Six are available, priced and sold individually, so you can take a pair, a set of four or all six.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: 77 cm high and 42 cm in diameter, to Fredericia's specification, measured to the original ash seat.
