Details

An excellent quality and fine example of an Antique English, George IV Set of Four, Mahogany Dining Chairs circa 1830. These chairs are stamped by the well respected cabinetmakers Saunders and Wooley who were noted chair and bedstead makers from Poughley of Oxfordshire. These chairs have a most unusual “show timber ‘frame design. The shaped back is padded with a lower exposed waist rail with central carving while the upper back is rolled back and there are two ‘compass point’ circular carvings. The seat rails are straight and nicely profiled. The front legs are turned and downward tapered with an upper carved Tulip and lower reeding. The chairs are hand crafted in high quality imported prestigeious Central American Mahogany. They have been properly re uoholstered with stitched hand rolled edges and covered in calico. They just await your choice of the top cover. H: 90 cm W: 46 cm
