Details
This is an attractive spatter glass vase in a classic mid-century style with flowing decoration in red, blue and, black and white, with an inner core of white glass and a clear glass foot. It has a tall, mid-sized, baluster shape and is about 20.3 cm tall and 8.5 cm in maximum diameter.
It still has its original maker's label - a small square gold, red and blue foil-on-paper label, with a stylised “TG” monogram. This is a vintage label of TAJIMA GLASS, a well known Japanese art glass company founded in 1956 in Tokyo by Matsutaro Tatsuta. Tajima Glass is still in operation. I expect that this lovely vase, which is clearly based on Bohemian designs, was made during the late 1950s or 1960s. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or restoration, and with the original label attached.
