Later reupholstered in a velvet that appears to be silk velvet or a velvet blend, in chartreuse. The upholstery feels relatively recent, indicating re-covering at some stage. Originally conceived as salon or occasional seating, prioritising intimate scale and visual presence rather than formal dining use.
Condition consistent with age: frames show age and patina; minor marks to the fabric, including a small ink mark to the backrest. Sold as a pair.
